If you're feeling overwhelmed just thinking about juggling your back-to-school agenda, take a lesson from multitaskers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The tireless twins recently added a new line to a budding empire that already includes cult faves The Row and Elizabeth and James. But for Olsenboye--an affordable-cool collection of chiced-up staples and jeans--the designers got a little extra help via a collaboration with JCPenney. "They've been so supportive of our vision," says Mary-Kate, right down to Web videos the duo dreamed up "to bring the clothes to life." The job has its perks, though, thanks to the sisters' far-flung sources of inspiration. "Each season we pick a new city, then travel there for research. For fall, it's London," Ashley says. "We're really influenced by street fashion." So while girls around the globe have long studied the sibling style icons for cues, Mary-Kate and Ashley are now turning the focus around. "Olsenboye isn't about trends so much as how girls mix and match," Mary-Kate says. The duo put their famous layering skills to work at our shoot, creating a look for the first day of class from fall picks like a studded army jacket, heeled clogs, and slouchy gray jeans inspired by vintage-denim shopping trips. "With jeans, it's hard to find that perfect fit," Mary-Kate says. "We modeled ours after great pairs we've hunted down, to make them more available." One less thing for you to have to worry about.
