I Am Number Four

John Smith (Alex Pettyfer) is an alien from planet Lorien who was sent to Earth as a child alongside eight others to escape an invading race, the Mogadorians, which destroyed their home planet. He is protected by a Warrior/Guardian, Henri (Timothy Olyphant), and has developed superpowers due to his extraterrestrial nature, such as enhanced strength, speed and agility, telekinesis, resistance to fire and heat, and the power to generate light from his hands.

The Mogadorians, led by the Commander (Kevin Durand) eventually learn about the nine toddlers and come to Earth in search of them. These Loriens can only be killed in a particular sequence, with three of them having already been slain. John is Number Four. Knowing this, he and Henri move from Florida to Paradise, Ohio, where John befriends conspiracy theorist Sam Goode (Callan McAuliffe), a dog named Bernie Kosar, and falls in love with amateur photographer Sarah Hart (Dianna Agron), whose ex-boyfriend, school athlete Mark James (Jake Abel) is a bully who often torments both John and Sam.

During the spring carnival, Mark and his friends capture John and Sarah, whom they believe are in a relationship, and follow them into the woods, where they attempt to beat John up. However, he uses his powers to fend them off and rescue Sarah. Sam witnesses the events, and John tells him his true origin. Shortly thereafter, Mark's father, the local sheriff, interrogates Henri on John's whereabouts when his son and his friends were attacked, and notices that he has a high-tech surveillance system.

Henri tells John that too many people are suspicious of them, in addition to John's random displays of power, caused by his difficulty in controlling them, and that they must leave. However, John tells him he can't because he's in love with Sarah.

The Mogadorians start searching for John. Another alien from Lorien, Number Six (Teresa Palmer), decided to go after the Mogadorians instead of running away from them after her Guardian was murdered. The Mogadorians eventually locate John and manipulate two conspiracy theorists into capturing Henri. When John and Sam go to rescue him, they are attacked but manage to fend Mogadorians off. However, Henri is mortally wounded and dies after John and Sam escape with some Lorien artifacts, including a blue rock that acts as a tracking device to locate other Loriens. Sam's father, a conspiracy theorist who disappeared while hunting aliens in Mexico, has another. While Sam searches for it, John tries to say goodbye to Sarah at a party, only to discover that the Mogadorians have framed him and Henri for the murders of the conspiracy theorists, as well as being terrorists due to their cutting-edge technology. Mark sees John and calls his father, who corners John and Sarah. He saves her from a fall, revealing his powers in the process, and they escape to their high school.

Meanwhile, The Commander also arrives at Paradise, blocking the exits with trucks. He is confronted by Mark and his father, and, after injuring the latter, he forces the former to show him where John is hiding, Mark then takes him to the school, which he knows is Sarah's hideout.

There, John, Sarah, and Sam are attacked by the Commander and his soldiers, who have brought two giant monsters to hunt the trio. They are saved by Number Six and John's "dog," Bernie Kosar, who reveals his true form as a good Chimera, which can shapeshift, and was sent by his parents to protect him. Bernie Kosar eventually shapeshifts back to a beagle with a very wounded paw. John and Number Six, who can teleport and block energy-based attacks, fight the Mogadorians. They eventually defeat them all, including the Commander, whose energy grenades are overheated by John and explode, destroying his body.

On the following day, John, Number Six, Sam, and Bernie Kosar, the shapeshifting Chimera, unite their blue rocks and discover the location of the other four surviving Loriens. John decides to let Sam come with them with hopes of finding Sam's father. They set to find the others and rally them together to protect Earth from the Mogadorians, leaving Sarah and a repentant Mark, who has redeemed himself by lying to his father about John's whereabouts and returning to John a box belonging to his father. John, Number Six, and Sam leave Paradise to look for the other Loriens.

The film ends as John narrates that Paradise is the first town he left without Henri, but it's also the first one where he has a reason to come back to.

I Have a Crush on My Best Friend And She's a Girl!

Dear Rachel,

When I was 16 I realized that I might be bisexual. Now I am 17 and know I am. I am attracted to my best friend but she is always getting with guys. Then I saw her kiss another girl at a party. I feel really scared but I want to tell her how I feel. Should I?

RS

Dear RS,
This is a tough one. Even though I get approximately 457 emails a day from girls who want to know if they should tell a guy if they like him, it’s different when you’re considering spilling the beans to another girl. The headline here is: Proceed With Caution.

For one thing, even if society has made a lot of progress toward accepting gay people, there is still a lot of anxiety and fear about homosexuality. And people who act like they are cool with being gay might have a different response when it becomes personal.

It’s also true that some girls make out with other girls at parties. They usually only do it in public, and often in front of other guys - I guess it’s some kind of entertainment? If you’re gay or bi and you’re seeing that, be careful what you assume. When you hook up in order to be watched, your priority may not be your own desire or feelings but, well, being watched. So those girls may not actually be gay or bi or even curious - they may just be into getting a rise out of people.

Here’s what I’d do: drop some hints and ask some pointed questions. You could casually ask, “Would you ever date a girl?” or “Did you like kissing that girl at the party?” or “I’m super into you, want to make out?” Okay, kidding, not that last one. The other possibility is just telling her you’re into girls and seeing how she reacts.

Generally speaking, I think you’re better off not getting with a best friend, boy or girl. If it doesn’t go well, you put one of your most important relationships at serious risk. I’d say you better be seriously in love or really know you want this person before you go there.

Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Rachel

"I Wanna Go"

"I Wanna Go" is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears. It was released as the third single from her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale. The song was written by Shellback, Max Martin and Savan Kotecha, while being produced by Martin and Shellback. Spears first posted a snippet of the track in February 2011, prior to the album's release. "I Wanna Go" is a dance-pop and Hi-NRG song that includes elements of techno and a heavy bassline. Accompanied with a whistled melody and stuttering vocals, the song's lyrics feature Spears sings about losing inhibitions.

"I Wanna Go" received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Some praised the track for being effective and highlighted its hook, while others called it repetitive and dismissed the vocals as processed. "I Wanna Go" charted due to digital sales following the release of Femme Fatale in the lower regions of the US Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100, and also topped the South Korean International chart for three consecutive weeks. An accompanying music video for the song was directed by Chris Marrs Piliero.

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure

Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) performs a dance number at the Lava Springs Country Club. There she meets a famous producer Jerry Taylor (Pat Mastroianni) who offers her dog Boi a chance to star in his newest show on Broadway. Sharpay later convinces her father to let her move to New York City on her own. He hesitantly accepts, but he has a condition: if the plan backfires, Sharpay is forced to move back with her parents and work at Lava Springs. While in New York, Sharpay is kicked out of her penthouse because they don't allow dogs. While in despair, she meets Peyton (Austin Butler) who offers her a studio apartment. Sharpay accepts but is disgusted to find out what it is. Sharpay, Peyton, and Boi go shopping to give her studio a little makeover.

While Peyton sees Sharpay in distress, he brings her to the stage of the Radio City Music Hall which makes her feel much better. There she meets Neal Roberts and Gill Samms, producers of Jerry's show. When she finds out they only want Boi, she auditions him but only to be caught in a tie with very competitive Roger Elliston (Bradley Steven Perry. Minutes later, Sharpay meets Amber Lee Adams, the star of the show. Leaving the theater, Sharpay is threatened by Roger that if she doesn't drop out, there will be serious consequences.

Later in the film, Boi and Countess (Roger's female pup) run away together. Sharpay and Roger team up to find them. Fortunately, Peyton finds them digging through a trash can.

Meanwhile, Amber Lee fires her assistant and dimwittingly hires Sharpay just to boss her around. Unknowingly, Sharpay is a maid to her and answers to her every need. Sharpay later finds out that Amber Lee isn't all who she cracks up to be. So she and Roger concoct a plan to get her fired from the show. Her plan works, only to get Sharpay fired and Amber Lee quitting from the production. Just as it seems that the production is about to get cancelled due to Amber Lee quitting, Peyton shows footage to the producers that she can be the girl to star in the show. They take his word and hire Sharpay as the lead role in "A Girl's Best Friend".

Sharpay accepts the offer only if Boi and Countess split the role of Shelby. Sharpay and Peyton share a kiss and she finally gets her dream of performing on Broadway. As the credits begin to roll, Sharpay receives a visit from her brother, Ryan, who is currently on break from a tour his musical is doing. Boi ends up scurrying out of the room, with Sharpay following afterwards. Ryan lies back on Sharpay's bed, unfortunately it lifts up and closes on him.

Beastly

Kyle Kingston (Alex Pettyfer) is the arrogant and vain son of wealthy and equally as arrogant and vain news anchor Rob Kingston (Peter Krause). When he wins student body president, he bullies the eccentric Kendra Hilferty (Mary-Kate Olsen) for being ugly and strange at the after-party. Disgusted, Kendra magically transforms Kyle into a bald, and scarred shell of his once-handsome self. Kendra says Kyle has until the next spring to find someone who loves him or he stays this way forever. Rob takes Kyle to live in a private condo with their maid, Zola (Lisa Gay Hamilton), and Kyle's blind tutor, Will Fratalli (Neil Patrick Harris). Rob initially promises to support his son, but gradually neglects his son over time and stops visiting him after work altogether. Angry and hurt, Kyle finds sympathy from Zola and Will.

As spring draws closer, Kyle finds himself infatuated with Lindy Taylor (Vanessa Hudgens), a girl from his former school who he had initially been as distant to as he was to Kendra. When Lindy and her father are about to be mugged by two brothers on the street, Lindy's father shoots one of the brothers, the surviving one vowing vengeance by taking Lindy's life for his brother's. Kyle saves Lindy and her father, and arranges for Lindy to move in with him for her own safety. Initially, Lindy is furious about hiding, since she was to go to Machu Picchu on a field trip - but after she claims she's seen worse when Kyle reveals himself to her (now calling himself "Hunter" around her), they warm up to each other. Kyle writes a letter to Lindy professing his love to her, but he never plans to give it to her, in fear of Lindy not feeling the same way. Will and Zola continue to help Kyle win her over, as the two begin to fall in love. In time, he completely wins her over when they read Frank O'Hara's poem "Having a Coke with You" together out loud. Closer to spring, Kyle makes a deal with Kendra that if he succeeds in winning Lindy's heart, she will restore Will's vision, and grant legal citizenship to Zola's three children in Jamaica.

Despite Lindy receiving a text message from her father that the criminal who threatened her life is in jail, she and Kyle spend an afternoon at one of Rob's private cottages on a lake. As they were about to kiss, Lindy receives a call notifying her that her father overdosed and is in a hospital. She leaves to see her father, and Kyle gives her his letter, but regrets doing so when she tells him he's a good friend before leaving.

Heartbroken, Kyle does not answer Lindy's phone calls, after she reads his letter. Inspired by Will and Zola, Kyle goes to meet Lindy one last time before she leaves for the field trip to Machu Picchu, and explains he did not answer her calls because he thought she only liked him as a friend. Lindy professes her love, and departs for Machu Picchu. Kyle's normal, handsome self is restored with Kendra's spell broken, but Lindy decides against leaving and tries to find "Hunter" again. She initially ignores Kyle while searching for Hunter, only for Kyle's phone to ring when she calls "Hunter". Realizing Hunter was Kyle, the two share a kiss in the street.

Will wakes up one morning and to his delight can see again, and Zola finds three green cards for her children in the mail from the government. Kendra is also seen approaching Rob Kingson's office as a new intern, implying that Kendra will likely do the same thing to Rob as she did to Kyle. In the credits, a series of photographs show that Kyle and Lindy went around the world together -- including Machu Picchu.

Everybody Wears A Mask

Did you ever think there are some people who really become themselves in front of you? If you think so, I suggest you to think twice. It doesn't matter how good or bad they are, I think everybody wears a mask. It's like avoidable thing. That's obvious. That's natural. That's human-being. It's just a trick in life that everybody hides something from you!

I'm not a hypocrite, sometimes I use it too. Because you can't always be accepted in every area, and you also can't always accept every area. It's like a cat that wants to cross a bridge with a lot of dogs. What should he does so the dogs won't disturb him? The answer is, the cat must make itself look like a dog, then act like a dog! Is that fake? Yes! Is that a wrong action? I don't think so! Because it knows it would die if it didn't do that.

Sometimes I find people that always wears masks wherever they go, and the surprising thing is, the masks are always changing. They can look like angels here, but look like devils there. Do you think it's okay? Well, I think it's a bit irritating. I mean, they now use their masks for something wrong. And I believe people hate it. That's what they call "hypocrate", isn't it?

If you want to wear a mask, don't use one that is too different with your face. You know what I mean? Look at the photo! The man is wearing a black mask, which is totally different with his skin. How can people not know he is wearing a mask? Of course everybody knows!

I believe everybody has their own real faces. You may use your mask, but don't let everybody knows what you're doing. You must know the trick, so you can be like a cat, which is accepted wherever it is. But remember, don't fake it. Don't be a hypocrite. You shouldn't lose yourself because of this thing. Most of all, don't irritate people and yourself with it. That's life!
Why must you wear a mask when people prefer your own face? You can't be proud of your mask. After all, it's just a mask.

Scre4m

On the fifteenth anniversary of the Woodsboro massacre by Billy Loomis and Stu Macher, high school students Jenny Randall (Aimee Teegarden) and Marnie Cooper (Brittany Robertson) are attacked and brutally killed by a new Ghostface.

The following day, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) returns to Woodsboro to promote her new book and becomes a suspect in the murders, with evidence in her rental car, forced by Dewey Riley (David Arquette) to stay in Woodsboro until the crime is solved. While in town, she reconnects with her aunt Kate Roberts (Mary McDonnell) and cousin Jill (Emma Roberts), who is dealing with the betrayal of her ex-boyfriend Trevor Sheldon (Nico Tortorella).

At night the attacks continue, taking the lives of Jill's friend Olivia Morris (Marielle Jaffe) and Sidney's publicist Rebecca Walters (Alison Brie). Later on, deputies Anthony Perkins (Anthony Anderson) and Ross Hoss (Adam Brody), are killed, and Gale Weathers Riley (Courteney Cox) is severely wounded while spying on a party held by several teenagers, believing the killer will be present.

When Ghostface later comes for Sidney and Jill, her Aunt Kate is fatally stabbed in the back and during a gathering at Jill's friend Kirby Reed's (Hayden Panettiere) home, Ghostface strikes again, killing Robbie Mercer (Erik Knudsen) while Sidney arrives to try to save Jill and Kirby. After Kirby is forced to answer horror film trivia questions to spare the life of Charlie Walker (Rory Culkin), he reveals himself as the killer and stabs her in the stomach, leaving her for dead. Charlie and his accomplice, unmasked as Jill, capture Sidney and reveal their plan to recreate the original Woodsboro massacre and frame Trevor, to become the new "Sidney" and "Randy Meeks", respectively. Jill executes Trevor by shooting him in the head, but also betrays and murders Charlie before stabbing Sidney, apparently to death. Jill then intentionally harms herself to appear the "lone survivor" of the new massacre. After being found and taken to hospital, Jill discovers Sidney is alive and prepares to finish her off but, with interference from Gale, Dewey, and Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton), Sidney shoots Jill in the chest, killing her.
